Alumni of the Week “James Alexander”

Jamie began his Wado Ryu Karate training under Sensei Rick Savagian in 1986. For Jamie, Karate was more than just a sport, it was a way of life. Facing adversity at a young age, and needing a foundation to build from, Jamie embraced the principles of Wado Ryu as a way of life. He utilized the disciplines instilled by Sensei Rick to drive him to success, earning his black belt in 1991.

Happily married to the love of his life, Christie, he surrounds himself with what is most important to him, friends and family. Jamie has great pride in his upbringing and instills the same principles taught by Sensei Rick within his 3 children; James (22), Christian (20) and Isabella (16). Jamie has spent the last 20 years in residential new home construction and is the Vice President of Operations for a National Homebuilder.

While not currently practicing, the positive impact Sensei Rick has had on him is everlasting and unforgettable. His passion and respect for Wado Ryu Karate, and Sensei Rick, is unparalleled and he has hopes of seeing himself back in the dojo again soon.
